Nissan Design Center, Japan

by Hiromura Design Office
2006

Located in Atsugi, Kanagawa Prefecture, The Nissan Design Center covers an area of 42000m2. More than 600 staff work there each day.The interior is zoned from A to i in 9 blocks where several different projects are carried out simultaneously.

Since the building is used by a highly creative workforce the signage had to be fresh and functional and communicate that even though each department is highly specialized they are all on the same path, part of the same mission.

The signage and environmental graphics for this impressive facility was born from the concepts of “a single road” and “it starts with a single line”. Each department and facility is signified by its own color – yet all are part of the same continuous line.
