Belém to Cais Sodré Bikeway, Portugal

by P-06 Atelier
2010

The creation of a 7 km long bikeway crossing different urban areas demands specific solutions. These were found along the riverbank of Belém, an urban district of Lisbon, with the objective to integrate this area more closely into the urban context. Aside from clearly evident pictograms, particular stylistic features have been incorporated, such as Alberto Caeiro’s poem in large-scale letters or onomatopoeic sounds under a bridge.
